Title:
DUAL CONNECTIVITY-BASED HANDOVER METHOD AND APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/192150
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a dual connectivity-based handover method. The method includes: assisting a user equipment, by a source base station, to enter a dual connectivity state, the user equipment in the dual connectivity state simultaneously connecting to the source base station and a target base station, with the source base station serving as a master node and the target base station serving as a secondary node; and assisting the user equipment, by the source base station, to switch from the dual connectivity state to a single connectivity state of only connecting to the target base station, which may be initiated when a communication fault occurs between the source base station and the user equipment. The present disclosure also provides a dual connectivity-based handover apparatus. With this method, the present disclosure may reduce the possibility of Ping-Pong effect, the complexity of the handover process and the signaling overhead.
