Abstract:
The present invention relates to a dual mode trailer having a horizontal transport apparatus capable of loading/unloading a container, said trailer being rigidly or detachably connected to a towing vehicle and having a container loading surface formed in the lengthwise direction of the main body thereof, wherein the dual mode trailer comprises: a horizontal transport apparatus arranged on the container loading surface of the trailer onto/from which a container is loaded/unloaded, and which moves between the trailer and a freight vehicle to unload the container loaded thereon; a plurality of container-fixing apparatuses arranged on the container loading surface of the trailer onto/from which a container is loaded/unloaded to stably support the container and to enable the loading height of the container to correspond to the loading height of the horizontal transport apparatus; and a controller which controls the above-described components to control a container loading/unloading operation. The horizontal transport apparatus comprises: a pair of guide booms arranged on the container loading surface of the trailer such that the guide booms are extended or retracted between the container loading surface of the trailer and a loading surface of a freight vehicle; moving actuators, which are arranged within each of the guide booms to extend or retract the guide booms; a main body fixed between the pair of guide booms; a plurality of rotary wheels arranged within the main body such that the rotary wheels contact the loading surface of the main body and rotate along the loading surface during the extension or retraction of the guide booms to move the main body; a plurality of lifting actuators, which are arranged between the plurality of rotary wheels to move in the upward direction; and a support panel arranged on the upper surface of the main body to support the lower portion of the container or to release the support during the elevation of the lifting actuators.
