Abstract:
A method for operating a PV system (14) that is integrated into a power system (10) connected to a power grid (22) includes determining a voltage operating point for the PV system (14) based on a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm (102). If an available power output of the PV system (14) can be provided to the power grid (22), the method includes operating the PV system (14) based on the voltage operating point (106). If the maximum available power output of the PV system (14) cannot be provided to the power grid (22), the method includes applying a voltage step to the voltage operating point to drive a power output of the PV system (14) towards an external power constraint (108).And a hybrid power system connected to a power grid is disclosed.
