Abstract:
A duct (100) for holding and aligning an optical fiber (150) is provided. The duct (100) comprises a passage (101) for accommodating at least a section of the optical fiber (150). Moreover, the duct (100) comprises a first plurality of clamping elements (103a-e) arranged in a first section of the passage (101) for clamping the optical fiber (150) in the first section of the passage (101). The duct (100) further comprises a second plurality of clamping elements (105a-e) arranged in a second section of the passage (101) for clamping the optical fiber (150) in the second section of the passage (101). Advantageously, the duct (100) prevents the optical fiber (150) from being tilted and, thus, allows for a better optical coupling of the optical fiber (150) to further optical devices. Furthermore, a method for manufacturing the duct (100) is provided.
