Abstract:
Disclosed is a dust core that has low core loss and excellent constant magnetic permeability, and is favorable as the core of a vehicle-mounted inductor. The dust core is a powder compact of a mixed powder containing: an iron-based soft magnetic powder having an electrically insulating coating on the surface; and the powder of a substance having low magnetic permeability of which the heat resistance temperature is at least 700°C and the relative permeability is no greater than 1.0000004. The density of the powder compact is at least 6.7 Mg/m3, and the substance having low magnetic permeability is present in the gaps between the soft magnetic powder in the powder compact.
