Provided is a dye-sensitized solar cell wherein the surface of titanium oxide, which constitutes a semiconductor electrode, is made to adsorb two different kinds of dye so as to improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency. A dye-sensitized solar cell which comprises a conductive supporting body, a porous semiconductor layer that is on the conductive supporting body and has a sensitizing dye adsorbed thereon, a carrier transport layer and a counter electrode. The photoelectric conversion efficiency of this dye-sensitized solar cell is improved by having the porous semiconductor layer adsorb a ruthenium complex and an organic dye in a mixed state, said organic dye having a different molecular size and a high open circuit voltage as a photoelectric conversion characteristic of the organic dye alone.
