Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide a dye-sensitized solar cell that has electrical storage functionality with a simple and compact structure, and has a sealing section that is highly reliable and does not leak electrolyte liquid. The dye-sensitized solar cell is provided with: a collector electrode having light transmission functionality and disposed within a tube vessel comprising transparent glass; a photoelectrode that is a semiconductor layer to which a dye is adsorbed and that is electrically connected to the collector electrode; a counter electrode separated from the photoelectrode; a glass sealing section that is formed at both ends of the tube vessel; a plurality of external leads that penetrate the glass sealing section and are led to the outside of the tube vessel; and an electrolyte liquid that fills and is sealed in the tube vessel. The dye-sensitized solar cell is characterized by the counter electrode being provided with an electric double layer capacitor, and by the electric double layer capacitor being configured from the counter electrode, which combines a positive polarizable electrode, a negative polarizable electrode, which is disposed separated to the inside of the counter electrode, a separator, which is disposed between the counter electrode and the negative polarizable electrode, and the filled electrolyte.
