Abstract:

An ethylene&sol vinyl alcohol copolymer having a novel structure and a process for producing the copolymer. The process, which is for producing an ethylene&sol vinyl alcohol copolymer, comprises hydroborating 1,4−polybutadiene as a starting material in a solvent and oxidizing the hydroboration product to thereby conduct hydroxylation, and is characterized in that the hydroboration is conducted while the solution is kept in a non−gel state.
