Abstract:
An ear count prediction device (10) comprises: a corner detection unit (11) that divides a region image, taken of a region that includes a two-dimensional unit region (frame F) which has been set in a grain cultivation field, into a grid, and that detects corners of the two-dimensional unit region in first divided images which were obtained; an exclusion unit (12) that acquires the position of the two-dimensional unit region on the basis of the positions of the detected corners, and that excludes image data for regions outside the two-dimensional unit region from image data for the first divided images on the basis of the position of the two-dimensional unit region; a target detection unit (13) that divides a post-exclusion image into a grid with a division size corresponding to the size of an ear of the grain and detects ears of the grain in second divided images thus obtained; and a prediction unit (14) that counts the number of ears of the grain that have been detected and, on the basis of a count value of the number of ears and the relative size relationship between a target range in the cultivation field for the grain and the two-dimensional unit region, predicts the number of ears of the grain within the target range.
