Abstract:
This earthquake safety system includes: a measurement unit that measures gas flowing to gas appliances; an accelerometer that detects acceleration; a body part in which the measurement unit and the accelerometer are housed; a calculation unit that calculates, on the basis of the detection results from the accelerometer, an incline based on the initial position of the body part and an earthquake indicator value indicating the magnitude of an earthquake; and a communication unit that communicates with outside of the system. The system also includes gas meters installed at each of a plurality of consumer residences, and a central server that receives the earthquake indicator value and the incline via the communication unit.
