Abstract:
The present invention relates to an adsorption material, which is prepared by recycling waste paper as an eco-friendly circulatory paper resource, for the purpose of adsorption and removal of sea oil spills and other oils, and to a preparation method therefor. An oil adsorption material of the present invention prepared by performing a hydrophobization treatment on a biomass material, such as waste paper, using a gas-phase grafting method has a superior oil absorption rate due to excellent oil absorption selectivity thereof compared with a conventional oil adsorption material formed of a synthetic resin, and also has a low water absorption rate, facilitating an incineration disposal procedure for disposing of an oil adsorption material for disposal having adsorbed oil; the oil adsorption material is formed of an eco-friendly material, leading to less harmful substances generated during combustion; and a biomass material is hydrophobized by using plant fatty acids, leading to a degradation in a short time at the time of a landfill treatment, and thus there is no concern about environmental pollution. Furthermore, the oil adsorption material of the present invention, compared with a conventional oil adsorption material using a synthetic resin, is cheap due to the use of a recycling base material (waste paper), and can be mass-produced using hydrophobization treatment equipment, leading to low preparation costs.
