Abstract:
An edge-based image interpolation method and device using slope tracing are disclosed. The image interpolation method according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: calculating a correlation between predetermined pixels around a first pixel; updating the slope of an edge on the basis of the calculated correlation; and interpolating the first pixel by using the updated slope, wherein in the correlation calculating step, absolute difference values between two pixels among the pixels are calculated, and in the slope updating step, the slope of the edge can be updated on the basis of a slope, which corresponds to a minimum value among the calculated absolute difference values, and the previous slope of the edge.
