Abstract:
An edge-lit backlight module and a liquid crystal display device, which relate to the technical field of displays. The edge-lit backlight module comprises a light source (305), a light guide plate (303), and a reflection sheet (301); the light source (305) is disposed at the incident light side of the light guide plate (303), and the reflection sheet (301) is disposed below the light guide plate (303); a bottom surface of the light guide plate (303) faces the reflection sheet (301), and a plurality of lattice points (304) are arranged at intervals on the bottom surface; the reflection sheet (301) adheres to the bottom surface of the light guide plate (303) by means of a glue layer (302), and the glue layer (302) is provided at the positions of the lattice points (304) with light transmission holes (3021). By means of providing the light transmission holes (3021) in the glue layer (302) at the positions of the lattice points (304), the positions of the lattice points (304) are not covered by glue, and therefore the majority of light from the light source (305) that is incident on the light guide plate (303) does not need to pass through the glue layer (302) following refraction and reflection, which reduces the absorption of light by the glue and improves the utilization rate of a backlight source.
