Provided are an edible oil in a small container such that oil leakage at the time of opening can be suppressed and deterioration of the edible oil due to oxidation can be suppressed for a predetermined quality retention period, and a method for producing the same.　An edible oil 10 in a small container in which a predetermined amount of edible oil 50 is filled in a storage portion 14a of a cup-shaped small container 12, and an opening 16 of the storage portion 14a is sealed with a peelable lid 22, wherein a space 14b outside the edible oil filled in the storage portion 14a of the container 12 is filled with an inactive gas. The edible oil 10 in a small container has a residual oxygen concentration of less than 1% in the space 14b of the small container 12 in the produced product. Further, the manufacturing method thereof has a step of replacing the air in the space 14b of the storage portion 14a of the small container 12 with an inactive gas, wherein at a position where the opening 16 of the storage portion 14a and an injection port 120a of the inactive gas overlap, the flow rate of the inactive gas is set to 30-70 L/min (inclusive), and the replacement time is set to 7 sec or more.
