Abstract:
This invention relates to an educational apparatus, an educational kit and to a method of teaching using the apparatus/kit. The apparatus typically comprises a frame; a plurality of tracks provided in substantially parallel rows in the frame; and a plurality of elements locatable on each of the plurality of tracks, wherein each element is displaceable along the tracks relative to the frame, and wherein each element is marked with a single numeral in a sequential fashion. In particular, the apparatus comprises ten tracks each with ten elements which are consecutively numbered from one to a hundred. The kit comprises a similar apparatus with the elements comprising marker formation in the form of slots and additionally a plurality of markers locatable in the slots, in use. The method typically comprises using the apparatus/kit to facilitate the teaching of arithmetic.
