Abstract:
An educational robot device for children comprises a robot and a robot-control-program inputting device. The robot-control-program inputting device comprises a reading unit, a control unit and a communications unit. The reading unit scans an input card containing data code in the form of a bar code in which is recorded code data corresponding to command text constituting the robot-control program, and also containing reference code which is recorded in the form of a bar code of the uniform type so that when the code data is read it can be used. The reading unit comprises a first photo-interrupter for taking in the data code and reading the code data, and a second photo-interrupter for reading the reference code. The control unit creates a robot-control program from the code data which has been read by the reading unit. The communications unit transmits, to the robot, the robot-control program which has been created in this way. The robot behaves in accordance with the content of the robot-control program.
