Abstract:
An EGR cooler having an angular tubular casing (12) through which cooling water for cooling exhaust gas flows and an adapter (51) connected to the casing (12) on the downstream side of a cooling water flow path, wherein the adapter (51) has an introduction port (52) for introducing the cooling water in the casing (12) into the adapter (51), a cylindrical transfer portion (53) that is continuous with the introduction port (52) and has an inner diameter φ, and a throttle portion (54) that is provided on the downstream side of the cooling water flow path with respect to the transfer portion (53) and is configured to be capable of being machined to an arbitrary inner diameter smaller than the inner diameter φ for adjusting the water flow resistance of the EGR cooler, and the distance a from the opening of the introduction port (52) to the throttle portion (54) is 0.15 times or more the inner diameter φ of the transfer portion (53).
