Abstract:
A rejected product ejection system for ejecting /removing the rejected product from an online rotary labelling machine is disclosed. The ejection system comprises a top plate (1) fitted on the machine; a magnetic coil (2) mounted on the top plate; a connecting plate (3) arranged between the magnetic coil and a lever (4); a bearing housing (5) connected with the lever perpendicularly; a shaft (6) fitted into the bearing housing; and an ejection finger (7) which is perpendicular to the shaft and is a part of the machine. When the magnetic coil receives a rejection signal from a processor, it triggers to push the lever and the shaft, then the bearing housing is rotated at a certain angle thus to move the ejection finger at the certain angle accordingly.

Claims:
We Claim:

1. Ejection system consists with machine top plate (1), magnetic coil(2), connecting plate (3), lever(4), bearing housing(5), shaft(6) and ejection finger (7)

wherein the magnetic coil (2) is fitted on the machine top plate

the connecting plate (3) is fitted between the magnetic coil (2) and lever(4);

the bearing housing(5) is perpendicular connected with the lever (4);

the shaft(6) is fitted into the bearing housing (5);

the ejection finger (7) is perpendicular to the shaft (6).

2. Ejection system as claimed in claim 1 wherein outer arc of the ejection finger (7) is a part of the online rotary labeling machine.

3. Ejection system as claimed in the claim 1 wherein the ejection finger (7) gets signal of rejected product on the rotary wheel from the magnetic coil, the ejection finger(7) enters into the rotary wheel and stay into the rotary wheel upto received next final ok product.

4. Ejection system as claimed in the claim 1 wherein at the end of rejected product on the rotary wheel, the ejection finger (7) is become the arc path of the rotary wheel to move the online labeling process continuous.

5. Ejection system substantially herein described with reference to the foregoing description and drawings.

Description:
EJECTION SYSTEM

Field of Invention :

The present invention is product ejection system. Normally the development of the product ejection device is based on usage of various type of Labelling Machine or Labeller or Label Applicator Machines used by many packaging industries such as Pharmaceutical, Foods, Beverages, Liquor, Agro Chemicals, Pesticides and Cosmetics. This device is useful on any Rotary type Sticker / Self-Adhesive Labelling Machine which used the Rotary Star Wheel System for Product movement/transfer with application of Sticker/Self-Adhesive Labels m Roll Form. Suitability of the device for any of the industries mentioned above for EJECTION of Wrong Ampoule/Vials or Product from the Moving Star wheel which carries the Labelled product during the Labelling Machine / Applicator operation.

Background of the Invention:

The present invented product ejection device is to ensure/avoid the mixing of final finished product with the rejected products having wrong label Or label with error detected by any device connected to the machine for checking it and also to eject the product which does not have label on it.

Presently most of the companies, particularly in Pharmaceutical Industries where they use high speed rotary sticker labelling machine to apply sticker/self-adhesive labels on their ampoule, vials and other cylindrical products are require to ensure the packing of finished product is foolproof & without any type of rejection/errors on labels. All products having Labelling application are required to maintain stringent norms/system to detect and remove rejected products from line during labelling process. Any product which require to apply label need the machine, require checking the Labels before application onto the products during online labelling operation, Moreover during the process it is mandatory requirement to print many essential details like Batch No., Price, Manufacturing date, Expiry date etc. using various type of online coding system to give the information with each and every products labeled.

Considering the whole process of labelling of products, it is possible to have a label within sticker label roll or the label having any error or any print mistake which happens . during the process of manufacturing/printing of labels. Moreover it is also possible that the information printed on labels might consist any error of missing/smudging of character or line during the online labelling operation which is treated as a rejected labels. It is also happened that by any error or problem label may not applied to the product and product moves further without label.

Now it is possible that there must be a chance of product having wrong label or product without label moves forward for further packing operation or company require to do manual inspection of all products before further packing after completion of labelling process. Following are the possibility of labels having error and product with this label considered as rejected besides the product without label.

1. Improper Colour / Colour Fading happened due any issue at the time of Label Printing at suppliers/printers end.

2. Missing of any code or wrong code related to product found improper or not legible.

3. Different product label found with the label roll, as many Label Supplier use the online Label Inspection system to check defect on Labels but since they use manual method or system to replace the defective label with correct label, now in this case many companies use same design/artwork/size for their labels except few change in Label Design, Colour scheme or text and due to this there are chances that during the manual inspection of label roll at suppliers end operator may replace the defective label in roll with similar type/size label but for different products.

4. Labels also come with Pre-Printed Barcode, Pharmacode or 2D Matrix code which is also reason for the rejection of label as in few cases the quality/density of printed code found improper or not sufficient to check online by various type of Decoder / Reader or Vision/Camera systems.

5. As a practice and as per the norms details like Batch Number, Price, Expiry Date, Manufacturing Date etc. need be printed on Labels during online process 1 of Labelling / Label application and people are using various type of Online Coding System to print require detail on Labels. The coding system used by the companies are Contact type coding or Non-Contact type coding and few of them are Hot Foil Coder, Hot Ink Roll Coder, Thermal Transfer Coder, Thermal Direct Coder, Inkjet Coder, Continuous Inkjet Coder and variety of other coding system. It is always possible that tne detail required to be printed on Label may have some error / smudging during printing / missing Line during printing / Missing Character(s) / Fading / hazyv/ light image of coding and due to this the label could be considerd as a rejected labels.

6. During the online process it is possible that the label is correct but the Details printed on labels using online coding system may not be proper or incomplete and in such cases the label are considered as rejected labels.

7. Online Vision/Camera System found any error on labels which is not as per the criteria/standard set by the company.

8. Label may not applied to the product and it goes further without label.

Now, considerin the above situation and due to further development in machine application many Labelling Machine offered in the market having online product ejection system which is giving advantage over the situation where machine needs to be stopped and remove the label/product manually by operator. However, all high speed Rejection system found in the market on Rotary machine uses the Pneumatic Components which use the Compressed Air which is a additional cost to the company/system. Moreover due to Compressed air usage, as a prevention customer need to use additional safety for the Low Air System as the performance of this pneumatic base system is purely on air supply and if the supply of Air is not there in this case system stop working and chances of rejected product mixing with Ok product due to non function of rejection system. To prevent this issue companies also use Low Air Alarm / Sensor system which attract additional cost to the user.

In case of online ejection system which is having pneumatic operation, there is a chance/possibility of error of pneumatic based ejection system, provided on may not eject the product and it mix-up with the finished/OK products. Considering the various situation following are the possibility that the rejected product mix-up with finished products in case of using Pneumatically operated ejection system.

1. Rejection System stops working without knowledge of machine operator

2. Rejection system does not work at required time due to Missing Low Air Signal from sensor

3. Rejection system fail to operate due to Low air where the additional Low Air Sensor/Detection system not provided.

4. Any error/malfunction of signal from Labelling control system to rejection system.

To over come above stated all the problems, the present invention for the product ejection system with electro magnetically device is used.

Object of Invention The purpose of invention came in picture after going through the various limitation found with pneumatically operated ejection system such as speed, requirement of Air etc. The present invention overcomes the various issue and limitations of using Pneumatic based ejection system application of mainly in Pharmaceutical Industries.

The present invention Ejection system Pneumatic ejection system by compressed air is replaced with the present invention device with Mechanical system which operates by Electrically operated Magenetic coil, hence user need to provide only power supply which is available within the machine. Moreover this system also eliminate the problem of Speed Limitation and it works flawless with speed upto 700 stroke/ejection per minute count. No need of separate pneumatic based controller and Compressed Air,

Details description of the drawings : The front view of the product ejection system is shown in Fig.l. The product ejection system is fitted on the top plate of machine (1). Magnetic coil (2) is fitted on the top plate of machine (1). The connecting plate (3) is connected between the magnetic coil (2) and lever (4). The bearing hosing (5) is fitted perpendicular with the lever (4). The Shaft (6) is fitted into the bearing housing (5). Ejection finger (7) is also perpendicular direction to the bearing housing (5). When the magnetic coil (2) receive rejection signal from the processor, it trigger to push the connection plate (3). As the bearing housing(5) is perpendicular connected with lever (4), the bearing housing (5) is rotates at certain angle so, the ejection finger(7) also rotates accordingly at certain angle. As shown in Fig.2, when the ejection finger (7) rotates at certain angle by getting the single from the magnetic coil spring mechanism is also fitted at the other end to bring the ejection finger (7) at the original position when no rejection signal is received from the magnetic coil. , the bearing housing where the shaft (6) is fitted in it so, when the magnetic coil (2) trigger to push the connecting plate (3), shaft (6).

In the Fig.3A to 3E example of single rejected product ejection system is ' described step by step. As shown in Fig.3A the online products labeling process is going on and when the ejection finger (7) get signal of rejected product on the rotary wheel, the ejection finger (7) entered into the rotary wheel as shown in Fig.3B and push the rejected product from the online labeling process as shown in Fig.3C and the rejected product is stored separately. [At the end of the online labeling operation, on the base of result stored on PLC for the rejected product and stored rejected product are compared] And at the saime time ejection finger (7) is become the arc path of the rotary wheel to move the online labeling process continuous as shown in Fig.3E. Multi rejected product example is shown in Fig.4A to Fig.4E. Where the ejection finger (7) get the signal of multi rejected product. The ejection finger (7) as shown in Fig. 4B entered into the rotary wheel and ejection finger (7) stay in that position upto the end of receiving rejected product signal.The position of the ejection finger (7) is shown as "A" and the rejected products are shown as "B" and the final OK products are shown as "C".

By using the present invented product ejection system, rejected products are ejected from the online product labeling process and continuous labeling process is done with more efficiently and more economically. The use of the ejection system on the online rotary labeling is not limited but the ejection system can be used for any types of online labeling machine.
