Abstract:
Paying attention to the formation of a visual wear inspection groove (10), and specifically the formation of a visual wear inspection groove (10) from multiple unit grooves, this elastic roller is provided with an inner layer elastic material (4) and a coating layer (5) which is provided on the outer periphery of the inner layer elastic material (4) and makes contact with a belt-shaped member, wherein a circumferential visual wear inspection groove (10) is formed in the surface of the inner layer elastic material (4) and disposed on the bottom layer of the coating layer, and is formed from multiple unit grooves (11, 12, 13) which are disposed in order and contiguous to one another. At least two of said unit grooves have mutually different depths, and the visual wear inspection groove (10) is filled with a material which is the same material as the material of the coating layer (5) but has a color different from that of the inner layer elastic material (4) and the coating layer (5).
