Abstract:
Provided is an elastic-wave device in which the difference in sound speed between an edge region and a center region can be sufficiently large while still achieving a compact-size elastic-wave device. The present invention is an elastic-wave device 1 wherein an IDT electrode 3 is provided on a piezoelectric substrate 2, the IDT electrode 3 has a plurality of first electrode fingers 13 and a plurality of second electrode fingers 14, a crossover region R1 has a center region R2 located on the center side in the direction in which the first and second electrode fingers 13, 14 extend and first and second edge regions R3, R4 disposed on both sides of the center region R2 when the crossover region R1 is a part where the first electrode fingers 13 and the second electrode fingers 14 overlap in the elastic-wave propagation direction, grooves 17, 18, serving as recess sections, are provided on the piezoelectric substrate 2 in the first and second edge regions R3, R4, and the first and second electrode fingers 13, 14 intrude into the grooves 17, 18, serving as recess sections, and are disposed on the piezoelectric substrate 2 in the grooves 17, 18, serving as recess sections.
