Abstract:
An elastic wave device (2) comprises: an elastic wave element substrate (12); filter electrodes (14a, 14b) that are formed on a first surface (12a) of the elastic wave element substrate (12); a first insulator layer (33) that is formed so as to cover a second surface (12b) of the elastic wave element substrate; and a second insulator layer (34) that is layered on the first insulator layer (33) so as to sandwich the first insulator layer (33) between the second insulator layer (34) and the elastic wave element substrate (12). There is a prescribed relationship between the respective products of the elastic wave propagation speeds and densities of each of the layers. Due to this configuration, an elastic wave device can be provided wherein the negative influence of bulk waves on a filter characteristic is reduced.
