Abstract:
An elastic wave device in which not only the temperature coefficient of frequency
(TCF) is improved by laminating a temperature characteristics improving film
and a frequency regulation film on a piezoelectric substrate, but also the device
is made thin and the frequency characteristics of a desired frequency can be attained
surely. An IDT electrode (3), a temperature characteristics improving film
(4) and a frequency regulation film (5) are laminated in this order on a piezoelectric
substrate (2). The temperature coefficient of frequency (TCF) of the piezoelectric
substrate (2) has a negative value, the temperature characteristics improving
film is composed of a material having a positive temperature coefficient of frequency
(TCF), and the frequency regulation film (5) is composed of a thin glass film having
a sound velocity of transverse wave slower than that of the temperature characteristics
improving film (4).
