Abstract:
The present invention provides a low-loss elastic wave device that utilizes a plate wave S0 mode. This elastic wave device 1 is provided with: a piezoelectric body 5 comprising lithium niobate and provided directly or indirectly on a support substrate 2; and an IDT electrode 6 provided directly or indirectly on the piezoelectric body 5, wherein: when the elastic wave wavelength defined by the electrode finger pitch of the IDT electrode 6 is denoted by λ, the thickness of the piezoelectric body 5 is 1 λ or less; a propagating plate wave S0 mode is utilized in the piezoelectric body 5; and the Euler angles of the lithium niobate are (0°±10°, θ, 90°±10°) where θ is 0°-180° inclusive.
