Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device less likely to experience surge destruction. A dielectric film 4 is provided so as to cover an IDT electrode 3. The IDT electrode 3 has: a first and a second edge region E1, E2, which are low-speed-of-sound regions; and a first and a second high-speed-of-sound region H1, H2 which are provided further outside than an intersection width region in which a first electrode finger 13 and a second electrode finger 14 are adjacent to one another in an elastic wave propagation direction. The thickness of the dielectric film 4 over the first and second edge regions E1, E2 is greater than that over the first and second high-speed-of-sound regions H1, H2.
