Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device in which transverse modes can be effectively suppressed. An elastic wave device 1 according to the present invention comprises a piezoelectric substrate 2, and an IDT electrode 3 that has a plurality of electrode fingers. A section where neighboring electrode fingers of the IDT electrode 3 are overlapping in an elastic wave propagation direction is a crossover region A. This crossover region A has a middle region C that is located in the middle in the direction in which the plurality of electrode fingers extend, and a first region E1 and a second region E2 that are positioned on both sides of the middle region C in the direction in which the plurality of electrode fingers extend. The elastic wave device 1 further comprises a dielectric film 8 that is positioned in the middle region C. In the middle region C, the dielectric film 8 is provided between the plurality of electrode fingers, and the dielectric film 8 does not overlap with at least a portion of the plurality of electrode fingers in planar view.
