Abstract:
Provided is an electric automobile that can rapidly take appropriate countermeasures when motor torque becomes uncontrollable. The electric automobile is provided with: a motor (6) that drives wheels (2); an ECU (21); and an inverter device (22). In the inverter device (22), a motor control unit (29) is provided with an engine speed control means (37) for controlling the engine speed, a torque control abnormality detection means (38) for detecting abnormalities of torque control by the motor control unit (29); and a control method switching means (39) for switching the motor control unit (29) to engine speed control by the engine speed control means (37) in response to an output indicating that an abnormality has been detected in the torque control by the torque control abnormality detection means (38).
