Abstract:
Provided is an electric bicycle wherein it is possible to light a headlight and to generate power while minimizing the increase of load on a rider even when the remaining capacity of a capacitor such as a battery is low. A motor driving unit (7) provided with a motor (25) is disposed on a center position between the front wheel and the back wheel, and a brush-less motor is used as the motor (25). A chain for transmitting the human driving power from the pedaling force to the back wheel engages with an auxiliary driving force output sprocket (27) for outputting the auxiliary driving force from the motor driving unit (7). A clutch is not disposed on the force transmitting path between a motor output shaft (25a) and the auxiliary driving force output sprocket (27) in the motor driving unit (7). The human driving force generated when pedaling is constantly transmitted to the motor (25) via the chain, and power is generated by means of the regeneration operation of the motor (25).
