Abstract:
An input member travels forward and backward through the manipulation of the brake pedal. The electric motor of an electric actuator causes a power piston to travel forward and backward. A master pressure control unit sets the target travel amount of the power piston according to the travel amount of the input member caused by the brake pedal, controls the electric motor so as to cause the power piston to travel by the target travel amount, and generates brake fluid pressure in a master cylinder. The master pressure control unit has a reaction force generation section (reference relative displacement calculator, relative displacement correction amount calculator, adder) for changing the properties of the hydraulic reaction force on the brake pedal. The reaction force generation section corrects the target travel amount for the power piston according to the time variation in the travel amount of the input member.
