Abstract:
This electric brake is provided with: a braking mechanism that transmits thrust, generated by the driving of an electric motor, to a piston which moves a brake pad to be pressed onto a disk rotor; a thrust sensor that detects the thrust on the piston; a rotation angle sensor that detects the rotation position of the electric motor; and a rear electric brake ECU that controls the driving of the electric motor on the basis of a braking command. The rear electric brake ECU detects an abnormality of the braking mechanism from a detection value of the thrust sensor and a detection value of the rotation angle sensor, with respect to the braking command, when the electric motor is driven.
