Abstract:
A control device (2) of an electric brake device is provided with first, second and third PKB operation units. Upon receiving a command to bring about a parking brake state, while a parking brake is being released, the first PKB operation unit (24aa) exerts brake force without using a brake pedal (Bp), and determines that a state in which desired brake force is exerted is obtained. After the determination by the first PKB operation unit (24aa), the second PKB operation unit (24ab) brings a movable unit (15) into the state of being engaged with an engaged unit (Hk), and rotates an electric motor (4) in a direction for reducing the pressure of the brake force, thereby obtaining a state in which the engaged unit (Hk) and the movable unit (15) are in engagement and the rotation of the electric motor (4) is impeded. Subsequently, the third PKB operation unit (24ac) brings about the parking brake state that prevents the electric motor (4) from generating drive power.
