Abstract:
An electric bus of an embodiment has an electricity storage function unit, a power receiving unit, a charging unit, a driving unit, doors, and a control unit. The power receiving unit makes contact with a power supply unit of an external device and receives power supplied from the external device. The charging unit charges the electricity storage function unit with the power received by the power receiving unit. The driving unit receives the supply of power from the electricity storage function unit to drive the electric bus. The doors are installed at entrance and exit portions. The control unit, upon detecting that at least one of the doors has opened, transmits to the external device a first signal including information enabling identification of the attributes of the electric bus and ordering the start of charging the electricity storage function unit, and, upon detecting that all the doors have been closed, transmits to the external device a second signal ordering termination of the charging of the electricity storage function unit.
