Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an electric cable for communication having excellent mode conversion characteristics.
An electric cable 1 for communication includes: a twisted pair cable 10 in which a pair of insulated electric cables 11, 11 each comprising a conductor 12 and an insulating covering 13 covering an outer periphery of the conductor 12 are twisted together; and a sheath 30 comprising an insulating material covering an outer periphery of the twisted pair cable 10; wherein the dielectric loss tangent of the sheath 30 is at least equal to 0.0001. In the electric cable 1 for communication, the dielectric loss tangent of the sheath 30 is preferably greater than the dielectric loss tangent of the insulating covering 13.
