Provided are: an electric cable connecting terminal wherein a trouble of a solder flow out from an electric cable connecting section to a connector section at the time of soldering is eliminated; and a method for connecting the electric cable connecting terminal and an electric cable to each other. An electric cable connecting terminal (1) for electrically connecting an electric cable (5) to an external conductor is provided with: a connector section (2) to be attached to the conductor; and an electric cable connecting section (3) wherein the electric cable (5), in which a plurality of core wires are bundled, is connected to a connecting surface (3b) by soldering. In the electric cable connecting terminal (1), the electric cable connecting section (3) has a caulking section (6) that holds the electric cable (5) by caulking, and furthermore, a step section (4) is provided between the connector section (2) and the caulking section (6), said step section protruding from the connecting surface (3b).
