Abstract:
An electric car control apparatus comprises a smoothing capacitor that is charged
from a DC power supply via a charging resistor; an inverter that converts the DC
power charged in the smoothing capacitor to an AC power and supplies the AC power
to a load; and a discharging switch that causes the voltage charged in the smoothing
capacitor to be discharged via a discharging resistor. In the electric car control
apparatus, the same resistor is used as the charging and discharging resistors,
thereby simplifying the circuit arrangement. The electric car control apparatus
includes a main switch, which is inserted in a main circuit to which the DC power
is supplied by the DC power supply, and an auxiliary switch that is connected in
parallel to the discharging switch and performs the opposite opening/closing
operations to the main switch.
