Abstract:
An electric compressor for a transportation machine, which enables a further reduction in size and weight to be achieved, is provided. The electric compressor, which is connected to a refrigerant circuit disposed in a transportation machine such as an automobile, is provided with: a motor (10); a motor drive circuit (20) that drives the motor (10); and a centrifugal compression mechanism (3) that has an impeller (30), which rotates due to the rotary output of the motor (10), and compresses a refrigerant drawn in from the refrigerant circuit by means of the rotation of the impeller (30), and discharges the refrigerant toward the refrigerant circuit.
