Abstract:
Provided is an electric compressor that enables an electric potential difference generated between two adjacent housings to be reduced in a stable manner. An electric compressor 1 comprises: a compressing mechanism that compresses a refrigerant; an electric motor serving as a drive source of the compressing mechanism; an inverter for driving the electric motor; and a plurality of metal housings enclosing the compressing mechanism, the electric motor, and the inverter, two adjacent housings being connected through an insulating gasket 60. The electric compressor further comprises a metal plate 40 having one end fixed to a first housing 10, which is one of the two adjacent housings, and the other end arranged to contact a second housing 20, which is the other of the two adjacent housings, when the two adjacent housings are connected together. The two adjacent housings are metallically connected through the metal plate 40, and the metal plate 40 is formed to have a shape that undergoes elastic deformation when the two adjacent housings are connected.
