Abstract:
The present invention relates to an electric compressor comprising: a housing; a compression mechanism which compresses a refrigerant in the housing; and a motor which provides power to the compression mechanism, wherein: the motor comprises a stator which is supported in the housing and a rotor which is rotated by interaction with the stator; and the rotor comprises a core in which a magnet is provided, a balance weight which is provided at the end of the core to control rotational balance of the rotor, a cover which covers the core between the core and the balance weight, and a refrigerant flow passage which allows the refrigerant to successively flow through the balance weight, the cover, and the core, whereby an increase in the temperature of the magnet provided in the rotor of the motor and demagnetization resulting therefrom can be suppressed, and thus performance degradation and operation ability loss of the motor can be suppressed.
