Abstract:
The invention relates to an electric compressor comprising a compression mechanism for compressing a refrigerant by receiving power from a motor, and an inverter for controlling the motor, wherein: a housing for accommodating the motor and the inverter comprises a partition for separating a motor-accommodating space from an inverter-accommodating space, and an inlet port for introducing a refrigerant from the outside into the motor-accommodating space; the housing has at least one internal flow path formed between the inner circumferential surface thereof and the outer circumferential surface of the motor; and the internal flow path and the inlet port are arranged on opposite sides of a first plane, which is an imaginary plane having the center axis of the housing threin and is perpendicular to the ground, so that a plurality of elements of the inverter are sufficiently cooled overall, and temperature difference between the plurality of elements are reduced, thereby preventing burnout, downtime, and increase in maintenance costs.
