In the disclosed electric construction machine, the replacement of a battery device can be easily and promptly performed, and in response to progress in battery technology, the easy replacement with a different kind of battery device is possible. An upper revolving body (3) is configured from a vehicle main body (100) and a vehicle rear section (200); the battery device (31) is mounted to the vehicle rear section (200); the vehicle rear section (200) is attached using bolts to the vehicle frame (101) of the vehicle main body (100) and is configured in a manner so as to be detachable. A main frame (120) extends jutting in the front/back direction to the bottom side of the vehicle rear section (200). The vehicle rear section (200) has: a rear section frame (201) that is mounted on the main frame (120) and is affixed using bolts; and a rear section cover (205) that covers the rear section frame (201) and has a shape that forms a battery chamber (204) and mimics a counterweight.
