Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric current sensor having a structure whereby a magnetic sensor is not readily saturated. [Solution] This electric current sensor 1 comprises a busbar 10 and a magnetic sensor 20 for detecting a magnetic field generated by electric current flowing through the busbar 10. The busbar 10 comprises bent parts A1, A2 that extend in the Z direction, a sensing unit 13, a bypass part 11 that covers the sensing unit 13 in the positive Y direction, and a bypass part 11 that covers the sensing unit 13 in the negative Y direction. The bypass parts 11, 12 compose a cylindrical structure that accommodates the sensing unit 13, and the magnetic sensor 20 is disposed in a hollow area 10a of the cylindrical structure. As a result, an area where there is zero magnetic field is formed in the hollow area 10a. Further, disposing the sensing unit 13 and magnetic sensor 20 in the hollow area 10a makes it possible to correctly measure the electric current flowing through the busbar 10 without the magnetic sensor 20 becoming saturated even if a large amount of electric current flows through the busbar 10.
