Abstract:
This electric cylinder comprises: a motor which is a drive source; an output shaft which rotates as the motor is driven; a sun gear coupled to the output shaft, and which rotates as the output shaft rotates; a cylindrical holder disposed adjacent to an axial end surface of the motor, and having a fluid storage part in which a magnetic fluid can be stored between the holder and the outer circumference of the sun gear; a pair of pole pieces provided on the inner circumferential surface of the holder; and a magnet disposed between the pair of pole pieces, and which retains the magnetic fluid in the fluid storage part by the action of a magnetic field.
