The present invention discloses an electric desalination method and a spiral winding electric desalination device. The method makes use of the cross flow of the brine and the fresh water. The brine flows in the axial direction, and the fresh water flows in the radial spiral direction. The revelant device of realizing the method comprises a central tube as one pole of the electrodes and a shell homocentric with the central tube on which the other pole of the electrodes is placed on. Several cation and anion exchange membranes are placed alternately surround the center tube to separate the space between the center tube and the shell to brine chambers and fresh water chambers. Ion exchange resin is filled in the fresh water chamber. The membranes are rolled up axled around the central tube. The membrane bags formed by the said membranes have two edges each of which opening to another, the fresh water inlet is located on the shell and the outlet of which is located on the central tube. This kind of module has good desalination effect and can reduce the possibility of scaling.
