Abstract:
This electric discharge device is provided with: a housing (4) that comprises a first plate (41) disposed on a first side (81) and a second plate (42) having an opening (42a) and being disposed on a second side (82) opposite to the first side (81) so as to face the first plate (41), and that defines an interior space (2) between the first plate (41) and the second plate (42); a substrate (3) disposed within the internal space (2); an electric discharge electrode (5) that is held by the substrate (3) and that is disposed such that the leading end thereof projects outside the housing (4) through the opening (42a); and an insulating sealing part (7) which seals the substrate (3) within the interior space (2). The surface of the second plate (42) on the first side (81) has a flat first region (45). A slant face (13) is formed so as to be parallel with at least a portion of the outer periphery of the first region (45) and to be tilted further so as to face the first side (81) as the distance from the periphery of the first region (45) increases. The slant face (13) may be substituted by a curved surface providing a continuous change from the first region (45).
