Abstract:
An electric discharge machine comprising a flammable working liquid (3) in a work tank (2), an electrode (E) and a work (W) placed in the working liquid (3), means for supplying a working power between the electrode (E) and the work (W), and a positioning means moving the electrode (E) and the work (W) relatively is further provided with a body cover (11) covering the machine body part, i.e. the electrode (E), the work (W), the work tank (2), the positioning means, and the like, means for supplying inert gas into the body cover (11) and means (17) for automatically replacing an electrode (E) disposed in the body cover (11). An electric discharge machine having a fire preventive function is obtained and long−time unattended operation can be realized.
