Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a high productivity electric discharge machining system capable of dealing flexibly with changes in the workpieces being machined without significant system modifications. In the present invention, an electric discharge machining system, which is provided with electrode magazines for mounting multiple electric discharge machining electrodes and which comprises electric discharge machines that automatically exchange the electrodes and perform electric discharge machining of workpieces, has a configuration that is furnished with: electrode magazine stockers (400), which are provided near electric discharge machines (300) and house multiple electrode magazines (500) that can be exchanged with the electrode magazine (500) of an electric discharge machine (300); an electrode setup station (700) for removing spent electrodes (E) in an electrode magazine (400) and mounting new electrodes (E) in the electrode magazine (500); and a conveyance robot (200) for conveying and transferring electrode magazines (500) among the electric discharge machines (300), the electrode magazine stockers (400), and the electrode setup station (700).
