Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric disk brake suitable for improving responsiveness. This electric disk brake is provided with: rotary-to-linear motion conversion mechanisms 5, 7 that convert the rotary motion of a rotary member 5 to linear motion; a return spring 13 that accumulates torque for retracting a piston 8 in response to the rotation of the rotary member 5; and a clutch 14 that switches between a state in which the torque of the return spring 13 can be accumulated and a state of suppressing the accumulation of the torque in the return spring 13. The clutch 14 is provided with a first disk 14a and a third disk 14c, which rotate with the rotary member 5, and a second disk 14b that is disposed between the first disk 14a and the third disk 14c. One end of the return spring 13 is connected to a caliper body 9 and the other end is connected to the second disk 14b.
