Abstract:

Provided is an electric double-layer capacitor that has good heat dissipation characteristics, can assure vibration resistance and impact resistance, and can improve durability in severe surrounding environments even with a simple constitution. A capacitor cell (10), a pair of end plates (3, 3) disposed on both sides of a plurality of capacitor cells (10) where the plurality of capacitor cells (10) is set up parallel, a metal case (6) that accommodates these end plates (3, 3) and the plurality of capacitor cells (10), and an insulating resin (7) filled into the metal case (6) so as to cover the end plates (3, 3), the plurality of capacitor cells (10), and lead terminals (12) are provided. The constitution is such that one end part is disposed on the end plate (3) within the insulating resin (7) and another end part is provided with an external connection terminal (5) that protrudes from the insulating resin (7) to the outside. The lead terminals (12) of a capacitor cell (10) adjacent to the end plate (3) are connected to one end part of the external connection terminal (5), and affixed to the end plate (3).
