An electric drive device which is compact, has reduced cost, and has high reliability of electrical connection. An electric drive device includes an electric motor (1) and a control device (11) which is disposed on the axis of the rotating shaft of the electric motor (1) and which controls the drive of the electric motor (1). The electric drive device is provided with a motor terminal (10) which has an end extending from the electric motor (1) toward the control device (11), and also with an output terminal (23b) which has an end extending from the control device (11) toward the electric motor (1). The motor terminal (10) and the output terminal (23b) are formed so that the portions thereof which include the ends extend parallel to the direction of the axis of the electric motor (1) and also so that the portions are joined together in a superposed manner.
