Abstract:
Provided is a steel-making process that drastically improves the disadvantages of conventional electric furnaces. The electric furnace steel-making process uses an arc-type electric furnace and comprises steps of: (1) putting scrap iron into the arc-type electric furnace and inserting a movable electrode into the electric furnace; (2) lowering the electrode while conducting electric current to the electrode and melting the scrap iron, and forming a boring hole into the scrap iron; and (3) pulling out the electrode from inside the electric furnace, inserting a metal tube burner lance into the boring hole, and spraying a mixed gas consisting of a fuel gas and a supporting gas from the metal tube burner lance.
