Abstract:
An electric heating catalyst (1) has a honeycomb structural body (10), and is configured so as to be arranged in an exhaust pipe (2) through which exhaust gas flows. The honeycomb structural body (10) is configured so as to have catalytic action and to generate heat upon conduction of electricity thereto. The honeycomb structural body (10) has a lattice part (11) in which a plurality of cells (13) are partitioned, and an outer peripheral part (12) that covers an outer periphery (11a) of the lattice part (11). A surface (11b) of the lattice part (11) and a surface of the outer peripheral part (12) are configured so that insulation with the exhaust pipe (2) is maintained.
